Custom Shoulder Rests

The Equilibrio custom shoulder rest is the product of over five years of development by Noah Luft-Weissberg and custom fabricator/sculptor Dr. David Mobley.

The Equilibrio rest is the first practical individually customized shoulder rest.  Using a proprietary method invented by Dr. Mobley, a violinist can now obtain a shoulder rest that fits them precisely.  Produced using cutting edge custom fabrication technologies in combination with traditional posture methods, the Equilibrio rest can suit nearly any player's style, body, and instrument.
Inquire below for more information on how you can be fitted for an Equilibrio rest!

The process of fitting the rest to your shoulder is fast, simple, accurate, and yields a shoulder rest so comfortable and effective you won't believe you ever used anything else.  You'll never have to worry about loss or damage to your Equilibrio rest, because your unique data will be saved electronically and can be made into a new physical rest at any time. The Equilibrio rest uses advanced lightweight foam materials to provide both support and comfort.

The Equilibrio rest provides the balance between technical control and personal connection with your instrument you’ve been seeking.

Multilayered foam structures give the Equilibrio rest a durable, ultra lightweight, comfortable configuration.  The stiffer foam provides support, and the softer foam rubber padding allows lets the rest connect to the shoulder by providing friction and springiness.

The Equilibrio rest is made from a direct impression of a player's own shoulder during a fitting session.  In play, the rest balances on the shoulder perfectly without requiring readjustment of the instrument or body.  The slender bar design allows for greater freedom of motion.
The rest is so balanced that it allows the violin to be held with only the head and shoulder with very light pressure.
